Our Philosophy

Our Mission

Our Mission is to serve and deliver, in the most ethical and professional manner, hearing health care services to individuals of all ages so that they may hear better. Our Vision is to become the clinic of choice for all hearing needs. Our philosophy is to care for our patients with respect, offer the best hearing solutions, and provide on-going support services. After all, HEARING is our concern.

Practice History

As the first to set up an independent audiology (hearing) and hearing aid practice in Durham, we serve people of all ages, from newborns to mature adults alike. No other hearing clinic in Durham can make that claim. Since 1987, the number of our hearing clinics has grown steadily. Our 1st clinic opened in Pickering Village (1987). At the request of the Pickering physicians, we moved to the Pickering Medical Centre in 1993 where we could offer more services to more people in larger facilities. Due to our patient requests, we expanded to Whitby in 1993. Then in 2000, we opened in Ajax so that we could meet the continuing growing demands for our services. As our patient base expanded in the Oshawa and Whitby area, we decided to open a clinic, our 4th, in Oshawa (2016). We soon saw a need for our services to the north, having patients regularly travel to us from Port Perry, Brock and Uxbridge, so we decided to make the leap and open our 5th and most recent location in Uxbridge (2021). We offer full time service in all locations, Monday through Friday for ALL AGES. Some evening and Saturday appointments are available for adults only.

To attain our objectives, we remain focused on solid research and tried-and-proven treatment techniques. We also invest heavily in continuing education, facilities improvements, and well-educated, trained staff, disregarding a “quick fix” or “traditional approach.” We feel that short-term objectives in retail like hearing aid sales are not the way to achieve superior medical treatment results that last a lifetime.

Our entire team will extend to you every courtesy, consideration, and recommendation that we would to our own family members looking to restore their ability to hear in noise, reduce their tinnitus, and avoid the increased risk of decline associated with untreated hearing loss. Once you walk through our doors, you’re one of the family.

Practice Profile

Advanced Hearing Ontario follows the medical model of providing hearing healthcare. The medical model relies on empirical evidence and best practice protocols, and not on hype, or sales tactics.

We are a second-generation family owned-and-operated hearing practice, trained in the field of Audiology/Hearing. We are similar to your family doctor who is trained in the field of medicine. But that is not the only similarity between your doctor and us. We know how you would feel if you learned that your doctor worked for a large pharmaceutical company. That would seem like a conflict of interest. We too do not work for large hearing aid manufacturers, and do not work for business people – no conflict of interest. We have no franchise rules to follow or quotas to meet. We are not limited in hearing device choice. Like your doctor, we are dedicated to serve you, and only you.
