Dear Ms. Sheppard:

I wanted to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for your support of the 2017 Secret Santa for Seniors campaign.  The Durham Elder Abuse Network started this campaign in the hopes of celebrating this holiday season with seniors in our community -some of whom are isolated and alone, your kind donation helped us to achieve that goal.

In 2016 the Durham Elder Abuse Network started the Secret Santa for Seniors project and were able to collect and distribute 350 gifts to Seniors in the Durham Region.  This year, with your contribution we were able to more than double that amount, and successfully distributed over 800 Christmas gifts to seniors living in Durham Region.  In addition, we were able to fulfill special needs requests for winter coats, winter boots, medical/personal needs items, food items, and pillows/blankets to name a few.

Your generosity and support is truly appreciated, and serves as an incredible example of the power of community.  Thank you for helping to brighten Christmas for so many seniors this holiday season.

With gratitude,

Shannon Smale-Butchard
